Of The Quote Of The Day. You'll Be Able To Reap Similar Or Even Greater Benefits!

"You have enlightened and inspired me many times over the past year. I would read the daily quotes that you so faithfully send and paste them in my "scrapbook" (a text file I started just for the quotes). When time permits, I also read the comments, thoughts, etc., you add to the end of each one.

One quote in particular, though, has inspired me to the point of changing my major in college, more importantly, my career aspiration. I have always wanted to be a writer--I ache to write, but it's not a widely accepted occupation in my circle of friends, family, supporters. It is considered a "lazy man's (or woman's, in my instance) job" by those around me who do not write, nor wish to. I am what one calls a non-traditional student--one who always dreamed of a higher education but never had the opportunity to proceed until many years after having graduated high school (seventeen years, to be exact). So instead of following my heart, I followed my head--and the well-intended advice of those around me--and sought a major in business.

Universities should post warning signs around their campuses, alerting their students to the contagiousness of the disease, Desire to Learn More. I contracted DLM in the beautiful, romantic, old, marble-endowed English building -- Cherry Hall. The moment I entered this place in time I was smitten.

Turn-of-the-century staircases of marble, the smell of leather-bound books, the perfume of hand-carved cherry mouldings entranced me, held me spellbound in direct opposition to accounting and econ. When I did not have class there, I sneaked in to study my other subjects--so I could feed my addiction. An awareness of what I really wanted began to surface, and in my feverish state,

I would mumble incoherently, trying not to arouse suspicion. How could I tell anyone that what I want more than anything else in this world is to write?

I had resigned myself to the education everyone expected of me--one that would bring more financial gratification than personal--when I checked my e-mail and, lo and behold, you had sent me courage in the form of a quote:

"You'll seldom experience regret for anything that you've done. It is what you haven't done that will torment you. The message, therefore, is clear. Do it! Develop an appreciation for the present moment. Seize every second of your life and savor it. Value your present moments. Using them up in any self-defeating ways means you've lost them forever."

~ Wayne Dyer ~

"Do it!" How more simple could it be? The only way I could be considered a failure is for having never tried. Success will not come to me if I wait for it--I have to entice it to my door.

Thank you for the light, the inspiration. Being surrounded by so much grand talent, I will have to work very hard to succeed in my writing endeavors, but with continued guidance, I will strive to do my personal best.

After all, that is what the struggle called life is all about."

"Thanks for the daily quote. I appreciate it more than you could imagine. Sometimes, just when I'm ready to throw in the towel, I check my e-mail and find the quote you've sent me. It gives me something to think about and inspires me to continue my day - as a warrior. It gives me encouragement and strength which I often forget is out there to support me. Thanks for making a difference in MY life!"

"I just recently subscribed to your site. however, my desk is quickly filling up with inspiration. I have always been one to believe in the power of motivation, especially for myself. my apartment is littered with random quotes taped everywhere from my bathroom mirror to the front door. my friends have always made fun of me for cutting out quotes and making quote boards to hang in my room. I firmly believe that I need daily inspiration. Thanks for the great work."

"Just wanted to say that this little program that you have set up is really great. It brightens each of my days."

"Thanks for making everyone's world a little brighter."

"I keep a board at work for the United Way and one of the things I like to do is put up inspiring and motivational quotes often. I think of it as my "gift" to my fellow employees for reading the board and supporting the United Way. When I started it a few years ago I thought how negative so many people were and how it might help them. I didn't think I needed any help because I tend to be upbeat and positive anyway. (Well really I work at it.)

The point is I don't think anyone could have gotten more out of it than me. All of a sudden one day I realized just how great I felt and fantastic my life had become. I think going through the many, many quote books I have purchased as a resource for the board has made a wonderful difference in my thinking, and of course it all begins with our thoughts! It just proves that you really can't help another without helping yourself."

"I enjoy your quotation network. Some have profound meaning and some make me smile. When I was a teenager in the late sixties I read a quote in the Readers Digest that has always stayed with me. "You can't steal second with your foot on first." This has come up many times in my life when I have wondered if I should try something new or different. I've always known that being safe doesn't always get you around the bases in life. And after all if you are called out, you just bat again and start over. Anyway, really enjoy all the quotations. Thanks ! Life is Good!"

"Just a quick note to thank you for this service. I enjoy getting the quotes each day and have joined up many people."

"Thank you for the quotation of the day, it's very inspiring."

" Every day when I arrive to work, I anticipate seeing the new message from you with the quote for the day. Most of the quotes truly 'jump start' my day. Some of them allow me to look forward to what is to come in my day. Most of them make me think.....a lot about their meaning. Finally, most of them make me smile, laugh or just plain feel good about myself and the world I live in."

"Your quotes are awesome and I love getting these e-mails everyday. Thanks for all your effort!"

"I really enjoy the quotes, sometimes its that breeze of reality that puts it back into focus just what it is, where it is I am headed, and what it takes to get there."

"Just wanted to let you I really look forward to reading the quotes. I have printed most of them to share with family & friends. They are always inspirational. Thanks for bringing them to me.

"I want to thank you for the wonderful service that you are providing by offering the "Great quote ..." I look forward each day to reading your quotes as one of the first things I do. I could say much more, and in the interest of brevity will hope that you will receive the deep appreciation I feel for your efforts.

Your work was one of the inspirations to a "quest" I undertook over the past three months. I am a marketing manager for Autodesk, a major software publisher. I am responsible for a new product line's sales into the North American education market. While sales started to take off in our third fiscal quarter, we needed an extraordinay effort in the fourth quarter (Nov. - Jan.) to achieve our goal.

So, starting on November 1, I announced my quest (the achievement of our year's quota) and promised that each day I would send a "Quest update" to about 25 people involved in our program. The Quest update began with an inspirational quote (many taken from your "Great quote", an update on our progress, and a listing of the significant wins (believing that when one person wins, we all win.)

The Quest, as it has become known, has been a joy. Many of the people on the email list have thanked me for the quotes, obviously getting as much joy from them as I do from your service. Our product line has been on many peoples' mind, and, we finished the year at 110% of quota!!!

Today I told everyone on my list of your wonderful service and web site; so if, this week, you see a flurry of email addresses ending in "autodesk.com", you will know where they came from. In addition, Autodesk always includes a "web site of the week" on our internal site and I intend to nominate your site as one of our links.

Again, thank you so much for your wonderful service."
